Whenever I am surfing online I always have my SEO hat on. I am always surprised to see that allot of websites I go on haven’t even got a simple thing like keywords on their site or even a site description. What webmasters do not know is that with just a few tweak their site would start to rank much better than what it is at the moment.

A Variety Of Backlinks

Variety of backlinks is always good. I’ve notice that somedays I think I’ve lost a backlink or two only to see them again a few hours later. Wonder why this happens.
I think that it’s a glitch with Yahoo, I have lost 100′s before

Thanks for the comments – Backlining does still work but it depends on how you do it for example blog commenting and links from edu blogs are not as powerful as they once were because of the panda update. Most newbies seem to think that backlinks alone will get them higher in the search engine rankings – not any more Google has changed over the last few months

Hi Ashara, thanks for back linking with me. I have heard that these article submission tactics is not liked by google at all and in the end it can penalize your site for doing so.
You can mass submit articles to 100′s of directories BUT you have to spin all of them to atleast 80% of Google may sandblox your site

the SEO Smart links plug-in is powerful. It takes care of all your internal linking needs, just make sure you use it sparingly. What I mean is don’t have too many internal links on one page because it will make the article look horrendous with every other word hyperlinked.
Surely,you can do all that in 2 hours…but you ought work consistently using these tools in order to build a sustainable growth for your business.
Very valid point when it comes to any online endeavours you have to be consistent as consistency brings success and great results. You cannot just use one method one time you have to use that method consistently over a period of time to see the best results
Everything you said is spot on, especially with the sitemap. I don’t think everyone realizes how important it is to have one, I didn’t know about it also when I started but I’m glad that someone opened my eyes and led me to the right direction. It’s one of those easy to do and no hassle things that we can apply that helps us in so many different ways.

Thanks for your post, one of the things I know I need to work on better is adding more internal links to other parts of my website form my posts. I”ll have to look at SEO Smart Links to help get this taken care of automatically. What I have found helps with external links is Amplify It.

More useful info here. I have most of those covered in my niche sites but your tips for backlinks and directory submissions were valuable.
A couple of months ago I got wised up about on-page SEO and since then have been religiously including two links in every post – one to the home page and one to a related post but wasn’t aware of the SEO Smart Links plugin so must check it out.
I notice you didn’t mention pinging. WordPress has that option in the dashboard Writing Settings and I have about 40-50 sites listed there. Picked up that list from another marketer’s blog post so not sure how useful they are but I did read recently that pinging is not as effective today as it once was so would value your thoughts.
BTW I see my regular Gravatar doesn’t show up on your site so I must check that out.

Hi there Again Jonathan, Not sure why I left opinion on this article but I have included it in some of articles I’ve written “sorry but content is not King” in the article I playlist of pinging services just like what you mentioned.
I think the jury is out on a lot of SCO methods I just try to do as much as I can. The best thing to do is try to automate the whole process so even if pinging or bookmarking is not effective as it once was it doesn’t bother me because it’s on autopilot and it all gets done automatically as soon as I submit a post.

thank you for your comment, you are right interlinking helps in so many different levels and I think that directory submissions have kind of dropped in value over the last 18 months. But some web directory is still quite powerful like Dmoz and Yahoo paid directories. Other directories with high PR are still quite good to use.

Hello Yahya Thank you for your comment, try submit your website to the more respected directories with high PR. Submitting your URL to top PR directories will help to SEO in the long-running but to get visitors you have two create good content and try and engage with your audience is niche.
This is a terrific list especially for newbie bloggers or website owners. I had not heard of or used the plug-in SEO SmartLinks. I have used Yet Another Related Posts plug-in and have had great success with using that to interlink my pages.
It looks like though SEO SmartLinks is more than just linking similar articles. Is that correct?
