Blogging is considered as an effective marketing tool and public relations.  Businesses know that they have to connect with their current, as well as prospective customers.  The secret to an effective blog relies on well you can make it.

 

Here are the instructions in creating an effective blog for your small business:

 

  1. Select a related topic that perfectly fits your business.  Provide necessary information that you think readers want to know and make sure that you make it sound interesting.  You can write reviews, testimonials, or even how-to tips to create a quality blog.
  2. Make sure that you create your blog in a conversational, authoritative and interesting manner.  You have to make sure that you speak to your reader.  It is important that your reader feels like that you are talking with them and that you very well know what you are talking about.
  3. Be honest and good mannered in your writings.  Always remember that your blog represents you and your business.  The success of your business blog also relies on the respect and trust of your customers.  Maintain a level head on your writing.  Stay away from offensive language and avoid critical remarks, be open.
  4. Once finished, check and edit your blog for any spelling and grammatical errors.  The proper use of language will show that you care on what you are writing and you very well know what your topic is.  Your readers will see your grammatical and spelling errors.
  5. Provide your contact information.  Since your readers are your prospective customers, providing your contact information is probably the start of a potential sale.
  6. Answer your readers’ comments.  If you offer open communication with your readers, they will sense that you do care about their opinions and you are very accessible.
  7. You have to regularly update your blog because updated blogs because it can make your readers come back. 

 

If you run out of ideas, all you have to do is listen to what your customers want.  Find out any problem that your customers may have and write something about that problem in your blog.  Make sure that your blog educates your customers and offers solution to their problems.  Always remember that your online business marketing blog is interesting, fun, enjoyable and effective.

  4. Great tips, Robert! Actually I’ve seen a lot of people make blogs for their businesses but paying little attention to it, thinking that having it out there is enough. But that isn’t how it works. Blogging is a form of communication and communication is very important to a business. :)
